A Salmon is a ray-finned fish that is native to the rivers of the north pacific as well as north atlantic. Salmon first hatch in freshwater streams to which point they will migrate in some time to the ocean, where they will spend most of their life there. But eventually the Salmon will return back to the freshwater stream as to complete their mating cycle, at which point they will mate and most of Salmon will die after the eggs are laid and fertilized. The emotional intelligence of a Salmon is inconclusive, larger emotional palette than a cricket with persistance, mild version of happy or glum. Though Salmons mainly operate through instinct, so the basis of an emotional states development needs a particular reasoning. So emotions are rudimentary as there isn't particular reason but more of animals development rewards fitness. Salmon in the wild are solitary creatures, so that also is why emotions not a priority to develop but rather just an emphasis on fitness. The intelligence of a Salmon is guided mainly by pure instinct in the wild settings. The Salmons main predators bears, other fish, sharks, seals, marine birds, herons, list goes on and on.There is a parasite that is rather common for Salmon and extremely common in farmed Salmon that is known as Sea Lice. Sea Lice will burrow into the Salmons skin, they feast on the blood and skin of the Salmon. The only way for the Sea Lice to drop off is once the Salmon return for mating, they don't like the salinity difference. Salmon do eat cephalopods as key highlight of their diet but they eat other stuff like worms, shrimp, insects, crustaceans and small fish. The pro/con list is for a Aquaculuture on land GMO salmon farm in terms of ethics.
